Lisa Griffen

Lisa Griffen joined the South Church community in October of 2020. She is passionate about people, animals, Creation Care and sharing the love of God.

 

Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in Child Studies and an MA in Environmental Education and navigates her role at the church with curiosity, creativity, compassion, and wonder. Her position as a preschool teacher for over 30 years has provided Lisa with a toolbox of ideas and resources to both support and supplement her ministry. She believes in taking a risk, offering forgiveness, and experimenting with new and innovative ideas.

 

Lisa adores the rocky coast of Maine, exploring historic hotels, practicing sustainable living, growing dahlias with her boyfriend, and honoring the sacred in all living things. She delights in the smell of freshly cut grass, feeding birds and squirrels, and defines success as celebrating the gifts in others and reminding all people (and animals) that they are undeniably and abundantly loved. Lisa is deeply committed to the care of our planet and seeks to build community wherever she goes.
